When asked to do a review on the new “Chuggington” DVD “Let’s Ride the Rails” I was so excited! My son not only loves trains (he has his own train set) but he also has all these cars with faces so I knew he would love it! “Chuggington” is directed by Sarah Ball, who won a BAFTA award for her work as director and writer of Bob the Builder so I was even interested. “Chuggington” also has a fully interactive website and Judah was excited to not only watch the show but also to see his favorite characters on the computer. I can’t wait to include the books since he loves to hold his books while watching his shows.
“Chuggington airs on Playhouse Disney, Disney’s earning focused programming block. It’s a CGI animated TV series that follows the amusing adventures of three young trainees, Wilson, Brewster andKoko, as they learn to “ride the rails” of life and become productive chuggers. Featuring a dynamic fleet of relatable and diverse characters, each engaging episode of “Chuggington” is filled with positive life lessons that encourage and promote early social skills.”
I know Judah is a little young to be learning life lessons at 2 years old and that he probably doesn’t grasp most of it but the ideas of friendship and teamwork are absorbed by even little guys like him and as he gets older he will be able to understand what he is empathetically associating with the characters actions. “Chuggington” is going to be one of the DVDs played over and over and over again in my house. I’m pleased to say that MORE DVDs are heading our way! “Chuggers to the Rescue”, “It’s Training Time” and “Wheels to the Rails” are scheduled to ‘head out of the station’ soon. And if you just can’t possibly wait to get your OWN Chuggington “Let’s Ride the Rails” DVD for your Chugger then you can always win it!
