People are always asking me ways to monetize their blogs. While I don’t make a ton of money on my blog, I do make a little bit. I’ll share with you some of the things that I do to make money on my blog as well as on Twitter. I have personally done everything listed below, and these are the ones I recommend. I have tried other ways too, but without success. I can always stand to learn a thing or two though, so if you do anything else to make money online, please feel free to leave suggestions in the comments.
Ways to monetize your blog
1. Social Spark
I have been using Social Spark for about a year or so. I’ve made roughly $15 per post. There are higher paying ones, but I think you get those after you’ve done so many posts for them. Although, don’t quote me on that because I’m not entirely sure.
Social Park is really easy to use and you can approve or deny an opportunity. Approval of your post usually happens pretty fast and you get paid 30 days from that. You can cash out at $50.
2. Advertising
You may notice that I have a “Visit My Sponsors” section at the top right hand side of my blog. Most are all advertisers. I offer text and banner ads at monthly rates, with discounts for purchasing 3 or more months at a time. I haven’t found any set advertising rates out there. I base mine on my traffic, readership and page rank. This is an excellent way to monetize your blog.
3. Paid Posts or Giveaways
Sometimes people request a review for a product I wouldn’t be able to use, for example a baby product. If my schedule isn’t too crazy, I will offer to do a write up or host a giveaway for a small fee. This is another great way to earn some extra money.
Ways to monetize your Twitter account
1. Sponsored Tweets
Sponsored Tweets is through the same company as Social Spark {Izea}. Making money through Sponsored Tweets is pretty easy. You just look at the opps and take the ones you want. Then you create atweet and once the advertiser approves it, the tweet is sent out. Payment is based per campaign {which I haven’t seen much of lately} or per click.
2. MyLikes
MyLikes is another way to monetize your Twitter account. I haven’t made quite as much with this one as others, but I just joined not too long ago and I turn down a lot of opps because I just don’t have the time.
Win by searching the web
I know how you all LOVE contests and winning prizes! Sign up for Swagbucks and win points just for searching the web like you would do any other time. I use Swagbucks to search all the time. I usually trade my points in for Amazon.com gift cards, but they have a bunch of other prizes. You can even use your points to enter contests to win prizes. It’s definitely a great way to earn without having to do anything but search like normal.
