Diary of a Wimpy Kid chronicles the adventures of wisecracking pre-teen Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon), who must somehow survive the scariest time of anyone’s life? middle school.
Convinced it’s the ?dumbest idea ever invented,? Greg considers junior high school a place rigged with hundreds of social landmines, not the least of which are wedgies, swirlies, bullies, lunchtime banishment of the cafeteria floor and a festering piece of cheese with nuclear cooties that he must overcome to become popular. His diary – or journal – chronicles his thoughts, tales of family trials and tribulations, and (would be) schoolyard triumphs.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid is such a funny movie for the whole family to watch together. Mine sure got some good laughs out of it; the kids maybe a bit more than us. You know that loud laughter that they seem unable to control? That filled my house last night as we all sat and watched this together.
Diary of a Wimpy kid follows Greg Heffley’s journey into middle school. All of the other kids seemed to have grown during the summer, but Greg just stayed the same, short, skinny and just plain small. He doesn’t fit in, he gets teased, he gets beat up and no one will let him sit at their lunch table. He’s forced to sit behind the wall with the other cast outs.
Greg tries to think of things to do that will make him cool and memorable. One of those things happened to be joining the wrestling team and given his size {the smallest boy there} I’m sure you can imagine how well that went!
My whole family got a lot of laughs out of this movie. I’d call it hilariously funny if that even makes sense. Diary of a Wimpy Kid is definitely a must see movie for the entire family, young and old alike!
