This time of year my kids love being outside, because it’s not too hot. Even in Ohio the summers get get pretty brutal. Spring is the best weather ever, so we take advantage of it!
The kids most favorite activity is Bubbles! They will spend a good amount of time blowing, running, and catching the bubbles. I love sitting back and watching them as they giggle and have fun!
The one thing I didn’t love was – the fact we ran out so often. I would just get done buying bottles and passing them out to the kids and even the neighbor kids and next thing I knew they would come back to me asking for more bubbles.
Thankfully they are very inexpensive to buy…but it’s even more inexpensive to make your own!
Silly me didn’t get any photo’s of the bubble making process, I was too busy snapping photos of the bubble fun!
It’s a really simple process though!
How to Make You Own BUBBLES
Ingredients:
- 6 cups Water (Distilled is good, but tap works as well)
- 1/2 cup Blue Dawn Dish soap
- 1/2 cup Corn Starch
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp Glycerine (secret ingredient)
- A big tub or container
Instructions:
Dissolve the cornstarch in the water. Then gently stir in the remaining ingredients. Let it sit for at least an hour. If you see it settling give it another stir.
The more you play with it the better!
The first time we played with this the bubbles popped very quickly, but like I said don’t give up – the longer you play with them the better they get!
