Do your children love the Dinosaur Train as much as mine do??? All Aboard the Dinosaur Train!!! I love educational animated DVD’s that keep our children’s attention. Both of my girls (3, 8) will sit and watch all eight episodes if I let them. What parent wouldn?t love for their children to learn more about an animal that is now extinct? Think of all the species they will learn and tell you about. I was given the opportunity to review new products from the PBS KID series Dinosaur Train. My children loved all the wonderful products we received and spent hours with each whether I was reading to them, watching the DVD, putting the puzzle together, or helping them take the stickers off so they could decorate their room.
Dinosaur Train, created by Craig Bartlett, embraces and celebrates the fascination that preschoolers have with both dinosaurs and trains while encouraging basic scientific thinking and skills. Each episode includes animated segments with live-action sequences featuring a paleontologist who brings to life the show’s natural science and natural history curriculum for preschoolers, giving specific facts about dinosaurs and comparing their features to animals of today. The series has been airing on PBS KIDS since September of 2009.

Dinosaur Train Peel & Stick Wall Decals – RoomMates
All aboard the Dinosaur Train! These fun wall decals will help you bring the Pteranodon family into any room. Your child will love having their Dinosaur Train friends on their walls! These decals are removable and reusable, and can be repositioned over and over again without damage or leaving any residue on your walls. Help your little one go on their very own expedition by decorating their room with these stickers! My kids had a blast decorating their wall. My youngest (3) and my eldest (8) were able to place their favorite characters anywhere they wanted on the wall I selected for them. You may have to help your younger children take the stickers off the sheet, but other than that they are very easy to maneuver. The decals range in size from 1.1″ wide x 1.7″ high to 8.5″ wide x 11.6″ high; 4 Sheets 10″ x 18″ and the larger ones are more difficult to take off than the smaller ones.
Dinosaur Train Troodon 24-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle ? Karmin
Troodon is just one of six new 24-piece jigsaw puzzles each one featuring a bonus laminated Dinosaur Fact Card. Of course the first time we get a new puzzle I help my three-year old, but after that she is able to put them together in a matter of seconds. This particular puzzle she has already mastered by putting it together so many times as most children do when they get a new one.
The fact card we received was Troodon ?wounding tooth? explaining that this dinosaur from the Cretaceous time period may have been an omnivore. That it eats plants and meat?as well as other things such as eggs and insects. It also gives examples of other Cretaceous Dinosaurs: Tyrannosaurus, Ornithomimus, and Corythosaurus. I think this is a great way to learn about similar dinosaurs for further reading.

They are traveling to Oryctodromeus Oasis to see them perform. Once they arrive everyone is disappointed that they do not see the new species, but decide to have a family adventure instead. It is dusk, and time to get back on the Dinosaur Train when the Oryctodromeus appear. They introduce themselves and begin to perform.

Episode five is Dad’s Day Out everyone is excited about going off with their dad’s to celebrate Dad’s Day. The Pteranodon family plans to meet up with two other families to celebrate. The dad’s were talking about when they were young and came to the Big Pond to celebrate with their dads and all the exciting games they played. Dad’s Day is cut short due to a rain storm, but that gives the dads a chance to explain the importance of rain.

Before they leave grandma gives them gifts to remember them by.
In episode seven Tank’s Sleepover, Tank is so excited about staying the night at the Pteranodon’s nest. He plans to play lots of games, eat a lot, and stay up all night. When it is time for bed Mrs. P. tells Tank that they have made him a leaf nest next to their nest and Buddy plans to sleep with him. Everyone begins to fall asleep as Tank tells jokes. Mrs. P. explains how hard it is to go to sleep on someone’s first sleepover because nothing around them is familiar.
In the last episode Date Night, Mr. and Mrs. P. are going to have dinner on the Dinosaur Train for date night. It is the first date they have been on since the kids were hatched. Keira is going to be their baby-sitter. This is the first time the kids have had a baby-sitter and they are unsure of the idea. Mr. P. is missing the kids and is having a hard time enjoying his time alone with Mrs. P. while the kids are starting to enjoy having a baby-sitter for the first time.
