My cell phone service leaves little to be desired. Some days, I am so fed up that I just want to chuck my phone across the room, or the car! I pay them a fortune and I think that for the amount of money we spend, I should have the best wireless service. Sadly, it’s anything but that.
My biggest concern is the price. I swear, there are extra fees every single month and we don’t even download stuff. I have no idea where these charges come from. The other things that really bothers me is not having a signal when I need it and the super slow internet that takes hours {it seems} to load; or when it won’t even load at all.
I’ve been wanting to switch providers for some time now, but didn’t want to get locked into another 2 year contract. I read reviews and I don’t see positive feedback on carriers often enough. My fear is that I will get stuck with a cheap wireless plan and service that is even worse. That’s why when I heard about Walmart Family Mobile, I really wanted to give it a try. I was sent the T-Mobile Concord phone and headed to Walmart to purchase the Walmart Family Mobile Starter Kit. You can view my #FamilyMobileSaves Google+ shopping trip for more insight into my purchase.
First of all, I was very impressed with the selection of phones that were offered for this particular plan. There were more options available than many of the other brands that Walmart features. My husband was excited that they offered the Samsung Galaxy S III. That’s the phone he currently owns and if all goes well with this plan, he will be switching it over! At just $40 per month, I don’t think their plans can be beat!
As mentioned above, I received the T-Mobile Concord phone. The color struck me immediately. I just adore it! It’s such a nice shade of blue that could appeal to a man or a woman.
After I returned from shopping, I opened my Walmart Family Mobile Starter Kit, took the SIM card out and opened the back of my phone so that I could install it. Well silly me took all of the plastic off around the SIM card and made it into a microSIM, oops! I hate to admit it, but I even put it in the phone that way. Lucky for me, my hubby is pretty handy, so he grabbed a little eyeglass screwdriver, took the phone apart and got the tiny SIM card out. We put it back into the larger plastic {which you can easily do} and installed the SIM card the correct way. I thought that I was quite lucky that they made it to allow you to do that!
After that whole ordeal, setting the service up was a breeze. They gave me step by step instructions to hook it up online, though you can choose to do so my phone too. Activation literally took me just a few short minutes, which was quite a nice surprise! Their online account management is a great resource too.
I like how the main screen is set up on the phone. It’s very user-friendly and to the point. The camera is right on the main screen too, which is great. I won’t have to fumble through pages trying to find it like I have to for my other phone.
Upon set-up there is a little robot dude that will help you through the process too, which I think is really cute. It’s a great idea too because figuring out your new phone can often be a pain!
I’ve had the chance to play around with some of the features on the phone, such as the camera. I am definitely impressed with it! Below is an unedited photo of Tulips in my garden. Just look at how vibrant and clear they are! i do have to adjust the settings to make the original images larger though, as they are quite small. That’s something simple in the settings though, I’m sure.
Over the next month, I will be using this phone and trying all of its features. Stay tuned for a full recap of my complete experience next month.
