When The Three Pigs roll into town looking to build some new houses, they meet one builder with a plan and two without a clue! Larry builds with hay, Mr. Lunt builds with bricks, but only Bob builds his houses on a firm foundation – following the wise plans from the “Master Builder’s Handbook!” Each pig has very particular ideas about what they want for their houses, but will their choices be good ones when the rains come tumblin’ down?
We’re big Veggie Tales fans in our house. Bob and Larry always bring a huge smile and a fit of giggles from my three year old. (Okay, maybe me too, they’re adorable!) And I love that the short cartoons teach great morals without being too in your face about it, allowing religious and non-religious families to enjoy the stories.
In the latest Veggie Tales movie, The Little House That Stood is a clever play on already well known nursery rhymes and Mother Goose stories. In fact, we are introduced to Mother Goose at the beginning of the movie, while Larry the Cucumber is dressed up as a gingerbread man cookie. (My little guy thought having Larry a vegetable dressed up as a treat was beyond funny!)
