No other cookbook has impressed me as much as Get Cooking! A Jewish American Family Cookbook. I may not be Jewish American, but I know a fantastic cookbook when I find one.
The difference between Get Cooking! and other family recipe books, is in the style. Each page features very easy to follow recipes with little notes and quiz points for kids. Some of them will have you refer to the The Mama Doni Celebration CD so you can listen to entertaining, upbeat family music while cooking with your family! I loved this idea and the Mama Doni Band is irresistible.

I wanted to feature one of the recipes on Get Cooking! for the Holidays! It is one of the most insanely simple and delicious recipes I have ever made! The Souper Traditional Latkes for Chanukah! Although I have Jewish friends, I had never really known anything about their traditions during this time and have realized, with a lot of envy, that they enjoy lots and lots of fried treats that would make you consider converting.
I actually said, after making these, that I was really celebrating the wrong holiday this year and my friends laughed and laughed and ate their Latkes.
