Happy Fitness Friday! I wish I could say I was being active with you all, but today is a rest day for me. I have been coming down with a cold and it is in my chest at the moment, so I end up battling a cough anytime I try to be active. So a self imposed rest day is in the works for me, but I want to share a fabulous way of keeping track of your workouts.
I came across Daily Mile while reading running blogs last year. Daily Mile is a free site that not only allows you to keep track of your training, but it allows you to motivate others and receive motivation along the way.
According to the Daily Mile website:
dailymile is a social experience for active people. We’re a community of people just off the couch to ultramarathoners alike, who encourage and inspire one another as we achieve our goals. Together we’ve shared over 5 million workouts. Each of them tells a story. Share yours.
Just like with other social sites, you create a network of friends. When you post a workout your friends will see what you have done and likewise you can see the activities that your friends have done. You are able to post comments or send motivation to your friends to help encourage them along the way. It always feels good to get a pat on the back for making it through that tough workout.
If you are a blogger you can post a daily mile widget to your site to share your workouts with your readers. You can see mine below (my numbers are a bit low right now, I stopped tracking for a while and have just started back again!):
Don’t want to share the exact details of your workouts? You can share these fun stats:
Weekly donuts earned
Or Hamburgers
(You can find these widgets on the home page after you have signed up by clicking on “Add Widget to blog” right below the add friends options on the right hand column)
Daily Mile is a great way to keep track of what you are doing to stay active. Keeping a record helps you to monitor your progress and see how far you have come. It is always nice to see that you are building strength and endurance!
Head on over and sign up today. Add me as a friend and we can motivate each other (just click on one of my widgets above after you have signed-up and click add friend. If you leave me a comment below letting me know that you added me, I will be sure to approve the friendship!).
Happy Fitness Friday Friends! Have a fun and active weekend. Don’t forget to enter the two fitness focused giveaways going on right now: Sunday Set-up Thermal Reusable Bag (ends at 12:01 AM EST 1/28, there will be 10 winners!) and two great products from Bengay (ends 2/4)!
This is not a sponsored post. I received no compensation for sharing this site. I shared this site because I have found it beneficial personally and hope that it will do the same for you.
