Orbo is an award winning snap puzzle made by PlaSmart Toys. I’ve read it’s been called the spherical rubiks cube and that wouldn’t be too far off. The idea of Orbo is to push, snap and match the colors of the balls to the rings that hold them; depending on how mixed up the Orbo colors are depends on the difficulty in getting them back to their spaces.
I had a whole lot of fun with Orbo. I love puzzles and it’s really fun to sit and play with, plus my toddler would join me! Every time I “snapped” a ball into a spot he’d shout out the color with glee. It became a game we’d both sit and play together. Even after finally completing the puzzle, I just mixed them all up again and played. It’s another addictive puzzle game, similar to PlaSmart’s Perplexus that I’d reviewed earlier.
I can’t say that the Orbo is incredibly challenging, there are more difficult PlaSmart puzzles out there (like that Perplexus Epic I still haven’t beaten!) but what makes me love Orbo is the fact that it’s just fun. I kind of get drawn to it when I see it sitting on a table, almost like a stress reliever ball, and just start snapping the colors back in their spaces. The age range is 4 & up, and it can take a beating if you have a toddler. Judah has attested to that. I think it would make a fantastic Stocking Stuffer this year!
