‘Tis the season for extra messes, falalala…. Okay, just be grateful you can’t hear me singing! But really, it’s that hetic time of year when you’re so busy working, cooking copious amounts of food, eating said food, shopping (usually with a kid or small army in tow) and then wrapping all those gifts you bought. (You spent how much?! I promise not to tell your husband, I swear!) So, sometimes, you just want to hand the kids a snack and let them be without watching them like a hawk for a spill.
Ladies and gentlemen, I have the solution! The Gyro Bowl! It is a BPA-free plastic bowl that uses an axis to spin the main bowl around and around, so it’s always upright, making it almost virtually impossible to spill! With a bit of effort, my son was able to spill his snack, but, it kept the mess relatively small! It’s still 100% better than handing him a regular bowl, that immediately gets turned upside and all over everything! It’s also very durable and will stand up to your toddlers and pre-schoolers abuse as they run around and inevitabely drop it, step on it or bash it with a toy truck! Another bonus, it’s dishwasher safe! The main bowl pops out easily (for adult hands) and you can wash the pieces separately. If they don’t finish their snack, it comes with a matching lid to keep it fresh!
Sonshine has a blast with his. The minute I opened the package up, he yelled out “mine!” before he even knew what it was! It helps make a two year old feel independent, and I feel less stress about finding a pile of uneaten or smashed food on the floor/bed! We also went to visit our home state, a long 10 hour plus car ride and it made giving a snack a breeze! Without even having to look, I could pass the bowl back to him without a spill! And when he was done, like normal, he threw it on the floor of the car. I’m happy to report, the Gyro Bowl worked magic and nothing was spilled!
Their website also offers some great non-food related uses, such as holding nails or screws while working on your house, paper clips or other small items in the office, or why not try holding tea bags in the kitchen? Once the kids are a bit older and outgrow the food use, you’ll still have an item you can use on a daily basis! That’s definitely more bang for your buck, long after the holiday season is over!
