Big Bro got his first pair of Heelys a few years ago. I remember them well, they were dark green and black. From the moment he slipped that pair of shoes onto his foot, he found his favorite shoe. He’s had a few different pairs of Heelys over the years and always asks for a pair next time he gets shoes if he’s currently wearing a different brand.
There is quite a bit of hype about Heelys and it’s really not unfounded. They are pretty cool shoes and if I had a little better coordination and wasn’t afraid to look like a fool, I just might sport a pair myself. Heelys act as so much more than just a shoe. You can skate around in them and get to where you’re going just that much faster. However, they are still a shoe and you can wear them stylishly wherever you go.
Of course, Big Bro has his own style, unique only to him so I let him choose his shoes. He chose the Heelys Wave in white and I have to say, he made a pretty good choice. If my kid’s got one thing, it’s style. He always has. In fact, for at least the last 5 years he asks for and is excited about getting clothes for his birthday! That’s not quite so ordinary for a boy!

Big Bro waited and waited {not so patiently} for his Heelys to arrive. I swear to you, the kid was stalking the UPS man. If he would see him around the block, he would ask if he had shoes for our address. So he was ecstatic when his shoes finally did arrive! I wasn’t home when they arrived and everyone knew what they were, so decided to open the package up. I was a little disappointed because I would have liked to snap a picture of his face when he realized they had finally arrived. But either way, he was excited and I was glad!
