I'm jumping for joy because for the first time since I can remember.. or at least since I've become a "gardener", the weather in Wisconsin has been nice enough to grant us an early Spring. In years past, this was unheard of and I'd be lucky to see life in my garden in early April. But that's not the case this year and I noticed my very first Crocus bloom yesterday on St. Patrick's Day!
I was so excited to see an actual flower when I opened the curtains yesterday that I just couldn't resist sharing it to Instagram right away. It was gorgeous, breathtaking and such a welcomed surprise!
It's a bit on the chilly side this morning, so they're closed, but look - another has opened up since yesterday and you can see a few more getting ready in the back there. If you can't tell, I'm super excited!
I ventured further down the garden, and this batch is blooming too - a whopping 4 of them!
It's crazy?what the anticipation and excitement of Spring brings out in me, but I just miss the color and beauty of nature and life around me through the long cold winter. I mean sure, winter is a beautiful season, when there's fresh snow on the ground. But it's long, cold and mostly gloomy. By the time it's over, I miss the sunshine and beauty of the other seasons.
So now starts another series of Flower Friday, where I'll share photos of my blooms every Friday for you to enjoy. I do hope you'll stop back to see the new life that's popping up every week!
