Well we haven't had a whole lot of rain lately and I haven't been so good about watering my gardens every evening. Unfortunately some of my poor flowers are paying the price and I feel so bad. I just hadn't realized how dry it had actually gotten out in the yard and gardens. I actually spent half this afternoon watering the grass; switching the sprinkler to different areas in the yard.
But despite all the dryness an having neglected the gardens somewhat, some flowers still thrive well. This Ruby Star - otherwise known as Coneflower or Rubinstern - has taken off this year and is over 4 feet tall - unreal! The plant is massive too, about 3 feet around. It's just breathtaking. The flowers on it are fairly large, with long petals. I'd like to split it one year but am unsure how and couldn't find any information on how to.
What's bloomign in your garden this week?
