Clematis are such beautiful flowers that grow on vines. They're best grown on a trellis of some sort and I was quite pleased when I found that we had one in our yard. My Clematis grows next to where the old sheds used to be and now that we've ripped those sheds down, the Clematis is blooming beautifully this year. I put a new, larger trellis up for it to climb and it's bursting with dark purple blooms.
The flowers aren't quite as big this year as they were in other years but I'm hoping that's because the plant is just starting to bloom flowers. I did notice these ugly little beetles on the flower, so perhaps that might have something to do with it as well.
The flowers are just gorgeous though and I can't resist going to sneak a peek every time that I'm in the backyard!
