Welcome to this week's edition of Flower Friday! My gardens are still somewhat transitioning between Spring and Summer since we had such a late season here in Wisconsin this year; but they're starting to really bloom. The gardens are getting fuller and many of the plants have already flowered.
My mother in law gave me a Daisy a few years ago and I planted it in my big garden out back. It had grown so much last year, that my husband and I decided it was time to split that baby and gave half of the plant a new home in the garden out front. It's doing really well this year and even sprouted another plant about a foot from where it was originally planted. So now I have two Daisies out front!
That front garden needed some help this year because half of what was in it didn't last through the winter. That's one of the sad things about living in such a cold winter climate - I never know which plants won't make it through to the next spring season.
That just means that I got to do more garden shopping this year and I chose this beauty because I just love the red/burgundy Daisy-like flower. ?I did throw away the tag though somehow, so I have no idea what this one is actually called.
This purple beauty has been around since last year I believe. This too reminds me of the Daisy, though it is not. I can't recall the name of this one though. I think I need a few lessons in flowers!
We've been doing a lot of work in the gardens this year and my cousin split her Hostas ?and gave some to me. Those are almost ready to flower so I'll be sharing those in the coming weeks. I had a giant Hosta that we just split a couple of days ago and the two plants we made from it are still huge! The back pine trees are now lined with 8 Hostas and it looks great in that area!
What kind of flowers are popping up in your garden this week?
