Put on your super suits (no capes of course) for The Incredibles Save the Day Board Game, a new family-friendly game from Wonder Forge out just in time for The Incredibles 2, which comes out in theaters this week!
We are super fans of The Incredibles franchise and it has been a long time coming for the movie sequel! We are also a family that loves our board games. The Incredibles Save the Day Board Game is a surprising hit! I often time find that board games that are themed to match a movie or book can be boring when it comes to game play. Save the Day Game is exciting, fast-paced, thought-provoking and a perfect game for families to work together to win!
Trouble is erupting across the city, but the Incredibles can save the day! Players work together, using each character’s unique power, to complete challenges and thwart crimes before it’s too late, all while trying to save Jack-Jack! As the alarm goes off across the city, players spring into action to stop a bank robbery, save a cat from a tree, or rescue people from a burning building. As each crime is revealed, tiles are flipped over on the game board changing the paths and creating a unique game with a different strategy every time. Work together to defeat the villains and save the citizens, and you?ll be the heroes of the city!
This is a cooperative game which means you all work together to solve a problem. In this case you work as a family to save the city and save Jack-Jack all before the villains destroy the city or you all lose. Sometimes when we play cooperative games my girls will argue but we are all so excited playing this game that they were actually encouraging each other the whole time! Each player has their own dice with powers on it and if you rescue Jack-Jack you get to roll his power-dice as well. You move around the city trying to fix each problem but each time you roll you might have to draw an action card from the deck and another problem might come up. Slide the cards to the right and try and fix the problems before it is too late. Each player dice can solve the problems but each player dice has more powers to match the player. Such as Mr. Incredible has an extra side with strength on it so it might be best to send him where the problem has to be solved with strength as it will be more likely he rolls the correct power more often.
This is not a quick move to each space to solve it kind of game. You have to roll dice for a bit of chance and things are constantly changing during the game which makes it more fun. There can be added help from Edna or some road blocks put in that you then have to go around. It may sound a little confusing but we easily figured it out the first time we played and now we don’t even have to reference the instructions during game play. The Incredibles Save the Day Board Game has quality pieces, is visually appealing, is well-thought out, plays off character’s abilities all while trying to be a super family. I can’t say enough good things about this game!
This is a great game for ages 6+ and such a fun game that it will be one of the very few games we bring with us on family vacations this summer. We like to play at night once the baby is asleep or when it is raining. A fantastic game that features one of our favorite super hero families! Available conveniently at Amazon.
