By far the most popular toy in elementary schools right now is slime. My girls ask to make it or buy it and they play with it constantly. Whenever we meet up with other kids it is inevitable that slime is brought up. It is the sensory toy everyone enjoys. In case you haven’t noticed (maybe you live in a unicorn safe zone) unicorns are also the trendy animal that can be found everywhere. I have loved unicorns since I was a little girl so I have waited a long time for this trend to take off. Tactile compound maker Mythical Slyme is on trend with their stretchy, gooey putty tins of Unicorn Boogers, Unicorn Tears and glittery pink Unicorn Poop.
Sensory play allows children to utilize and understand all five senses and builds their creativity and learning through exploration. Slime is so enjoyable to fidget with that I would not be surprised to see this on adults’ desks, too! Big Sis is 9 and has always had sensory issues so she especially loves to manipulate slime in her hands. Sometimes having a bit of slime in her hands can help her concentrate and focus. Lil Sis and every little girl that has come over to our house in the past week has fallen for Mythical Slyme too so it really is for all kids!
Slime and putty toys offer something for kids who enjoy sensory play. Did you know that the main difference between slime and putty is that slime dries out and is stretchier while putty never dries out and tends to be firmer? I did not know that and I really do enjoy learning something new every day. Mythical Slyme offers up both types to fit your wants and needs.
When play is done with Mythical Slyme, the gooey wad goes right back into the tightly-capped tin for safe keeping. Make sure to store the tins flat and not slanted so the putty doesn’t get into the closure. For clear colors, make sure hands and surfaces are clean since they pick up dirt easily. They also tend to leave a bit of residue since they are so soft.
The opaque colors are tougher and need less TLC to stay pretty. The clear colors will return to clear and glossy if you let them sit in the tin after playing. The pink one can make farting noises if you press your fingers into the bucket quickly. These are all ethically harvested in different ways. For the Unicorn Tears “We had to park a few volunteers in front of Lifetime movies for several days with test tubes.” For the Unicorn Snot pictured below it was harvested during “cold and flu season.” Mythical Slyme is all about saving unicorns so none were harmed in the making of these putties and slimes.
Girls will especially appreciate Mythical Slyme! My girls have played with these daily for over a week with no signs of slowing down. Now their friends are asking for them. These are the cutest and most durable we have played with yet. The perfect size and price for birthday gifts as well. Don’t forget that these were all ethically harvested as no unicorns were harmed in the making of their products. May your children’s summer be full of squishy and entertaining Mythical Slyme!
