It’s no secret that you can save a pretty good chunk of change by doing many things by yourself, rather than seeking help from the pros. While there are some things that not everyone has the skills to do on their own, some tasks, like an oil change are simple enough that many people often choose the DIY route. Like my husband for example; when it comes time to change the oil, he almost always opts to do it himself, even when a winter ice and snow storm hit smack dab in the middle of April! Today, I’ll share how simple it is and also how to properly dispose of motor oil.
When it comes to buying our motor oil, we often pick it up at Walmart because they have the Mobil 1? High Mileage oil that we use, and I can also grab everything else that we need for the week. Of course, the same convenience is true for those who prefer to have someone else do it. Walmart’s Auto Care Center does quick oil changes and you can shop while you wait!
We choose?Mobil 1? oil because it provides less waste so that we’re able to be more earth-conscious.?Click here to select the Mobil 1 ? oil that is right for your car.

How to properly dispose of motor oil
Now, we all know how important it is to recycle things that we use at home like aluminum, plastic and glass. But did you know that it is also important to recycle your used motor oil? Many people do not, and they also have no idea where they could even take it to recycle. But I’ve got great news because you can actually take it right to?Walmart’s Auto Care Center where they’ll take it off your hands and recycle it properly. You can even get another entry for a chance to win that Chevy Equinox when you do so!
My husband likes to use these oil containers when he does an oil change. They sell them right at Walmart bu the oil and they are super convenient for all the Do it yourself-ers out there. Simply drain the oil right into the container and you don’t have to worry about making a mess trying to pour it into another container. Once it’s full, simply take the container into Walmart’s Auto Care Center for recycling!
