My kids love reading (which is something I have worked with them on since birth) but of course they also enjoy when a book is a little bit “different.” That is exactly what the writers are going for in the NEW Inside Out Book Series from Quarto Kids. Each book has a die-cut model and as you flip the pages you get to see what is between the layers of a mummy, dinosaur or shark! A really cool book series that even I enjoy flipping through!
Though the ancient civilization of Egypt may be long gone, its dead still have secrets to tell. Mummies have always intrigued me. We even took Big Sis when she was 8 to a traveling exhibit on mummies and she was fascinated. This book takes you on a journey through the different layers of a mummy. Ridiculously interesting as you get pages of little factoids that perfectly blend with the mummy layer you are viewing.

In this picture I am trying to show you an angle so you can see the die-cut outs. It is really cool in person! Sharks are one of my few fears in life so I like getting to know my “enemy.” I try and read as much as possible about them because although they scare me and I also find them fascinating.
Inside Out: T. Rex offers clues to understanding the most compelling and mysterious dinosaur of them all. Loaded with awesome?illustrations and captivating text, a die-cut model within the book’s pages will take you inside T. rex’s body to reveal, layer by layer, how these giant beasts lived more than 65 million years ago.

I find both girls and boys alike love to read about dinosaurs. This book takes you through t-rex one layer at a time right to the bone. I learned that we still don’t know why T. Rex had little arms! Now all the memes out there about it are even more funny to me.
Check out this awesome book trailer from Quarto so you can really see what makes these books so awesome!
These are great educational books for kids ages 8 – 10 that want something a little bit different. My girls really enjoy feeling each layer with their fingers as I read them all the interesting facts about the animals. Kids will love getting to know these subjects as they truly get to see between each layer.
