Authentic family recipes from LuLu’s Kitchen: A Taste of the Gulf Coast Good Life cookbook reminded me of my childhood when I lived in Mississippi. In the summer we used to take trips to the Gulf Coast and New Orleans. I love Cajun style food, and this one cookbook I had to have.
LuLu’s Kitchen is Lucy Buffett’s culinary guide to classic Southern coastal cuisine and features more than 120 signature recipes from her famous Gulf Coast restaurant, LuLu’s. Recipes include Buffet family favorites and soul-satisfying delights like LuLu’s West Indies Salad, Heavenly Fried Crab Claws, Garlic Cheese Grits, and Silver Queen Succotash–not to mention a whole chapter of specialty cocktails that will have you daydreaming of cold margaritas and warm sand between your toes.
Like Lucy’s brother, Jimmy Buffett always says, “It’s 4 o’clock somewhere”! I have an incredible recipe to share with you from Lucy’s Cocktail Hour chapter.

This cookbook expresses Lucy Buffett’s love of cooking, and shares with you a little of her family history. The Buffett clan is an intersecting group to read about. I would love to visit a LuLu’s Kitchen someday.
