I’ve been getting super crafty lately and it’s been a great little outlet for me to relax, unwind and just take my mind off the every day struggles. So I’m really excited to share my latest DIY Butterfly Bookmark project with you that I created in partnership with Stampin’ Up! – my favorite shop for paper crafting.
This bookmark is super easy to make and would be a great craft project for the classroom or kids’ parties!
DIY Butterfly Bookmark
Supplies you’ll need:
- Bohemian 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock Assortment Pack
- Bohemian Designer Series Paper
- Ornate Tag Topper Punch
- Bitty Butterfly Punch
- Elegant Butterfly Punch
- Paper cutter
- adhesive (I used a glue stick)
- twine
Step 1. Using the?Bohemian 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock Assortment Pack, cut a sheet of the turquoise paper length wise into 2 inch strips. Then cut each strip in half, so you should end up with 8 strips that measure 2″ by about 5.5″.
Step 2.?Using the Ornate Tag Topper Punch, punch the top of each
Step 3. Punch your butterflies! I used the Elegant Butterfly Punch on the Bohemian Designer Series Paper and the Bitty Butterfly Punch on the Bohemian Cardstock. However, feel free to mix and match if you have a bunch of kids making projects. That way they ca each customize their own!
Step 4. ?Using adhesive, attach an Elegant Butterfly to the middle of your bookmark and two Bitty Butterflies above and below that.
Step 5. Cut a piece of twine to your desired length and slide it through the hole at the top of the bookmark. Tie it off.
And that’s a wrap! See how simple these are to make?! If you’re looking for more butterfly ideas, you might enjoy making these Tissue Paper Butterflies. They make great party decorations and are super cheap to make!
