I absolutely love door wreaths. There’s something so welcoming about them and they’re an easy way to spruce up your doorway. Since the 4th of July is just around the corner, I thought my door needed some red, white, and blue with this DIY American Flag Yarn Wreath.
Decorating for the holidays can add up to a lot of money spent rather quickly. Some people purchase a couple of items each year over time to save some money, but another way to save on holiday decorations is by making them yourself. Take this wreath for example, you can literally make this wreath for under $5, and even less if you happen to have a stash of yarn at home. You can grab the foam wreath form at your local Dollar Tree store.
DIY American Flag Yarn Wreath
This DIY American Flag Yarn Wreath is super easy to make and requires just a few supplies. Grab the supplies below and follow my easy instructions to make this wreath yourself. Once you realize how easy this yarn wreath is to make, you’ll be making them for all occassions!
Supplies:
– Foam wreath
– Wood stars
– White paint
– Hot glue gun
I wrapped a quarter of the wreath in blue yarn. Then I marked off 13 equal spaces on the remainder of the wreath and alternated red and white yarn to make the stripes.
I painted my wooden stars white and hot glued them onto the blue yarn on the wreath. Once that dries the wreath is ready to hang.
This is the perfect patriotic wreath to last all summer long and is so easy to make – enjoy!
