Paddington Bear is a fictional character in children’s literature that has been around for more than 50 years! A character that has been around that long is usually one that is truly loved and transcends through the generations. The first story started with a bear that was left at a London train station and was adopted by the Brown Family. He is kind-hearted but often finds himself in little bits of trouble. He always works hard to fix the situation. This lovable bear is one every kid should discover!
There is nothing that Paddington Bear loves better than living with the Browns . . . except maybe marmalade! But now Mr. and Mrs. Brown have given him something else to love at number thirty-two Windsor Gardens?his very own garden. Paddington sets to work in an attempt to create the most interesting garden he can. In typical Paddington style, hapless mischief leads to blind luck, and his garden turns out to be a most unique site indeed!
How adorable is it that he learns to garden in Paddington in the Garden! This classic tale is in a newly repackaged picture book edition that is perfect for little readers and for springtime! The illustrations are just as amazing as the story itself. In it Paddington is given his own garden space but the only problem is he doesn’t know what to do with it so he sets off for some inspiration.
For
my youngest this was her very first Paddington picture book. Terrible
that I have been reading about him to my oldest but not my youngest but we only had the chapter books and not the picture books. This picture book is hardback and built to be read over and over and that is great as my girls are no so gentle with their books and it breaks my librarian heart! Now Lil Sis is going around calling all the bears in her room Paddington. He really is a lovable bear!

More About Paddington is the second classic novel about the famous bear and this edition is a new paper-over-board edition which contains the original text by Michael Bond and illustrations by Peggy Fortnum.
Paddington Bear becomes a celebrity when he takes portraits of the Brown family with a very old camera. Thanks to the unique results, a local shop puts the photos on display. And that’s just the first adventure this extraordinary bear finds himself in. From wallpapering to mystery-solving, Paddington does it all with the sense of wonder and playful charm that readers have come to love.
This book is more for the ages 8 to 12 crowd so they can read on their own but my 6 year old enjoys me reading them to her. This is a great series to introduce chapter books as the stories are simple yet enjoyable.
Paddington has been engaging young children for generations with his fun adventures and good heart. I love sharing him with my girls! Having him come to life in picture books is extremely nice for younger kids and the chapter books are as good as ever!
