Winter in Wisconsin has been brutal. I’ve noticed that it seems that way across the Midwest and other parts of the country as well. I’m not exactly a fan of the cold and I don’t often find the snow a whole lot of fun to play around in. I prefer to partake in winter fun indoors, where it’s nice and warm. That’s why my family loves to hit up indoor water park resorts like Kalahari during the winter months. We get to have fun as a family, but I don’t have to suffer in the cold. It’s a total win/win!
The awesome thing about hitting up Kalahari during the winter is that they’ve always got great deals going on. Since it’s not peak season, they keep their prices lower, which in turn means a lot of savings for you!
And… since gas prices dropped considerably (yay, finally!), it means that road trips are now more affordable than ever! I don’t know about you, but those crazy high gas prices were really putting a toll on our budget since my husband drives 90 miles round trip to and from work. Now that the gas prices have been literally cut in half, that means we can actually get out and do fun things as a family.
First up on our road trip list is Kalahari. We’ll be heading there for some fun in just a couple of very short weeks and honestly, I cannot wait! This little va-cay? is just what I need to get rid of these “Winter Blues”! We’ll hit up the water park and get our thrill on the slides. Then I’ll hit the lazy river for a bit of relaxation and I mustn’t forget the Mud Hut Swim-Up Bar for the tastiest of cocktails!
Later on, we’ll venture to the Indoor Theme Park so the kids can rock climb. Hubby and I will join them for some Go-Carts and the Revolution 360 thrill ride. We’ll stop in the Upper Deck Lounge for some bowling and beverages before bed.
Personally I’m really looking forward to a relaxing weekend and I plan to stop at Spa Kalahari for a pedicure. I think it’s just what my poor neglected winter feet need!
What would you enjoy most about a road trip to Kalahari this winter?
