~I received a copy of Mo Smells the Ballpark by Margaret Hyde for review. Opinions and stories are my own.~
I was given the chance to review Mo Smells the Ballpark, the newest story in the Mo’s Nose series by Margaret Hyde. This particular story is actually co-written by Nichelle Robinson, daughter of the Baseball Hall of Famer Frank Robinson!
Mo is a rescued dog who loves going on adventures and discovering the wonders of the world around him. The series invites young readers to explore using their senses while reading stories that celebrate discovery, feelings and play. In Mo Smells the Ballpark, Mo gets to visit the ballpark for Bark in the Park day where he discovers many new sounds and scents.
The book even comes with a scratch n’ sniff sticker pad in the back with the different scents from the ballpark. My youngest loves to read the story and then smell the stickers just as Mo is smelling the items!
Mo Smells the Ballpark teaches children about good sportsmanship and teamwork. It offers the idea that it doesn’t matter whether you win or lose, but that you had fun playing and learning something new. The illustrations in the book are beautifully done and give a very realistic touch to Mo and his friends.
Other books in the Mo’s Nose series are:
