I’ve wanted a steam mop for quite a number of years now. This house has a lot of hard floor surfaces, as did our last. Since steam can actually kill germs and bacteria without harsh chemicals, I thought it would be a great option to make our home a little more Earth friendly.
As a young Korean housewife and mother, Romi Haan had an idea that would free homemakers from laborious chores. Because such importance is placed on maintaining a clean floor, Korean women wash floors daily. Frustrated by the time and effort required to keep the floors in her home clean and sanitary, she set out to develop easy-to-use products that would clean and sanitize through the power of steam.
I’ve always heard great things about Haan and their brand of steam cleaners, so I was quite excited when given the chance to review the HAAN VersaSteam Pro BS20. It’s a turbo steamer that features 15 steam jets, swivel head and an emectric pump.
Now, I’m a little embarrassed to admit, but my HAAN VersaSteam Pro BS20 sat here, untouched in the box for a couple of weeks. The hubby kept procrastinating on putting it together, then went back to work for the season. My Mr. Fix It guy, Lil Man offered to help me instead. He’s actually pretty good at that kind of stuff and puts stuff together often for us!
Of course, I’m a control freak and had to take everything out of the box, grab the instructions and make sure we knew what each piece was before we began.
If you can’t tell, he has an annoyed look on his face because I made him wait so long, instead of just letting him do it! So he grabs the handle, sticks it into the unit and goes to grab the screw.
Yes, I said one screw. See it, right down there? One simple little screw, screwed through the handle and base and assembly was complete. Seriously, I felt pretty silly at this moment. I mean, who asks a 12 year old for help with one screw?!
Well that was that – assembly complete. Now it was time to test this bad boy out! Of course, Lil Man wanted to be the “tester” and since he really didn’t have to assemble much, I thought it was only fair! He grabbed some water, poured it into the reservoir, screwed the cap back on and we plugged it in. I did read the directions again first, so we knew exactly what we were doing.
It was actually quite simple. We attached the pad to the floor steamer body, then rested it on the floor protector mat. This is suggested so that you don’t ruin your floors.
Then Lil Man set to work. He steam mopped the entire floor in our office/den and I couldn’t believe how great the results were! A clean that great, without the use of harsh chemicals? I mean literally, it’s just water! I was amazed, to say the least!
Now, what I really love is that you can remove the steamer from the base and it’s handheld. You can use this to clean toys, hard to get to areas and around toilets.
I’ve used my HAAN VersaSteam Pro BS20 for a couple of weeks now and am really enjoying the time it saves. And it does such a great job! With 4 boys, 3 dogs and a cat, my house can get rather dirty, so I’m loving the fact that I’m killing those nasty germs they bring in!
Stay tuned, because I’ll be sharing a video demonstration in the next couple of weeks. I’ll show you first hand how well this bad boy works!
