I’m not pregnant, not yet anyways, but I’m constantly on the lookout for great pieces of clothes that will flatter a pregnant belly and speak to my style, or at least to the style I know I could rock! When I was pregnant with my first child, I worked 40 hours a week, on my feet, and had to wear a uniform of sorts, jeans with a black or white polo shirt. Not horrible, but, after weeks on end of just wearing the same thing and then hiding out in pajamas on my days off, I vowed to never be a frumpy mom-to-be again!
Fillyboo is an Australian designed maternity fashion brand with a bohemian, laid-back style. Everything on their website just gives me an Earth-momma vibe and I love it! Maxi dresses, overly-large baggy shirts that fall off one shoulder, sweater dresses, and wraps, plus so much more!

“The Shine” Knitted Maternity Sweater |

“Dream Catcher” Maternity Kaftan |
Are those pieces not gorgeous? I would live in The Shine sweater all fall and winter! With my son being a November birthday, it would have been one of those perfect, comfy pieces to wear during a nursing marathon, or paired with skinny jeans and boots for an outing! The Dream Catcher would be wonderful to wear, especially here in the South, during the peak of a pregnancy. It’s difficult to stay cool while keeping your belly covered and this shirt offers enough skin showing, while maintaining a certain level of modesty! Paired with shorts and gladiator sandals and you’ve got a great date night outfit for all your pregnant curves!
“Splendour” Maternity Trapeze Dress |
I had the great pleasure of receiving the Splendour trapeze maternity dress for review. It’s a boxy maxi dress which ties around your shoulders. First of all, the Rayon Voile Crepe material it is made from feels so luscious. It glides easily against the skin while feeling smooth, silky, and soft. My husband had to ask me to stop rubbing it against my face. It’s that lovely. I would say the dress is true to size. A medium fit great and I could tell there will be ample room for a growing stomach. I’m also 5’3″ and the dress just skimmed above the ground, nothing a pair of sandals or boots can’t solve! I just adore how the flower designs pop against the back of the dress.
The pinks are not too bright and everything just blends into itself. Throw a long black or pink open sweater on top and pair with boots for a fall or winter outfit. In the summer, a pair of flip flops you can slide out of just makes me dream of playing in the park bare foot, chasing my son with a big belly! A girl can dream.
I cannot wait to order a few more pieces when I finally get that BFP! Even if the other pieces are only half as comfortable as the Splendour, it will make for a very comfortable pregnancy. I’m excited to see what the Spring collection will bring.
