I am constantly trying to make it so my family lives a greener lifestyle. Nothing drastic but I find that small changes a little at a time works best for us. We have started eating better and we try to recycle more but the next step for us was stopping the use of disposable containers. Paper cups, plastic water bottles and paper plates had to go. I have found this to be the hardest step, especially my beloved plastic disposable water bottles that I take to the gym. Horrible I know! It finally happened though, Klean Kanteen has converted me to reusable stainless steel!
Klean Kanteen
offers products that help you keep your family BPA and toxin-free as
well as withstanding the elements of being dropped and used on a daily basis.
?The Original? Stainless Steel Water Bottle comes in convenient 27 oz. and 18 oz. sizes that will fit in most cup holders and many bike cages. The Classic is made of 18/8 food-grade stainless steel and does not retain or impart flavors.
This one has been my perfect gym companion. I love the sport spout as well as the loop as I often find myself subconsciously carrying it by the loop. I use to constantly leave my water bottle around the gym but now with the bright and vivid yellow I have not misplaced it yet!
I really like the idea of the smaller, lightweight 12 oz. Kids Kanteen Sport that comes with a completely BPA-free and soft silicone cap to be gentle on younger teeth. What a great size for when space is limited and is also leakproof ? making it perfect for a lunchbox or backpack. I need to get 2 of these, one for each of my girls!
I send my 5 year old to preschool every day with a snack. I have been using re-usable bags but a lot of the time I want to send grapes or strawberries and they would only get smooshed in a bag. I instantly liked the insulated canister as it makes the perfect snack container for my girls.
Today I took the the girls and husband off to a local corn maze. Snacks were of course needed and we had water in our water bottle and grapes in the food canister.
The water stayed nice and cool over the course of 3 hours and the grapes were still cool as well and stayed nice and fresh in the canister throughout our trip there.
The idea of been green can definitely be scary at first but take it like I did and take baby steps. Switching out to Klean Kanteen Stainless Steal water bottles is actually a much easier step that I anticipated. Greener, no toxins from plastics and in the end will save you money. Instead of repeatedly buying water bottles just fill one up from water in your fridge and you are on your way.
