It’s hard to believe that my “babies” are growing up so fast. Big Bro just celebrated his 14th birthday on Monday and Lil Man will be 12 in just 3 short months. My, how the years have seemed to fly by!
It feels like not so long ago, they were infants, craving my constant attention, affection and love. I remember like it was yesterday and what “I” craved the most was sleep. I’ve never slept quite the same since, because now I awaken to every little sound that goes bump in the night.
These days all I think about are my 4 beautiful little nephews, my SIL and her husband – and the fact that those two probably never sleep. Could you imagine having 4 infants at the same time?! I don’t know how they do it, but they manage to do a pretty great job!
I thought to myself “What better gift could I give them, than the gift of sleep”? So it was decided. I brainstormed some ideas and came up with the perfect assortment of things to help aide them in getting a good night’s sleep.
The first thing I think of when it comes to sleep is pajamas. Comfortable pajama pants are in fact my favorite article of clothing, {which I may possibly be wearing as I type this}. So that was the first item on my list – fleece pj’s for the boys and some nice pj pants for mom and dad. My babies always slept better after a bath with Johnson’s Baby Bedtime Bath, so that was next on the list. A dry butt is always essential, so some Pampers diapers were in order too. If babies sleep well, then mom and dad should be able to get some much needed rest.
“By interviewing over 9,000 moms about what was important for their baby, Pampers found the number one unmet need is a diaper that provides superior overnight dryness. Pampers incorporated this firsthand insight, as well as the brand’s deep understanding of baby and baby’s needs, to design a diaper that both mom and baby can count on for up to 12 hours of overnight protection. “
As new parents, it’s easy to forget about each other because the babies are always demanding your full attention. I thought a nice little evening for the couple after the babies are asleep was totally in order. Did I mention that they’re newlyweds too?
A bottle of wine, some new wine glasses and a super soft plush blanket should do the trick after a nice relaxing bubble bath. I even included a gift card so that they could order in – since I’m sure an evening at a restaurant is completely out of the question for these busy new parents!
Since we’ve had some major vehicle issues on and off over the last month, I have been unable to get out to see my nephews lately. Thankfully, I will get to see them tomorrow though when they come for our Halloween/Birthday party. I know my SIL already thinks something is up since I asked for her pant size. Though, I doubt she’s thinking anything like this. I’m excited to see their reaction when I give them their “gift of sleep”! And even more exciting is that I’ll be able to give those adorable little boys some smooches!
