Frances England is one of the most beautiful and talented musicians I’ve had the pleasure to listen to. Blink of an Eye is an acoustic pop album for families, not just children, and I love listening to with my tot. She sings to your heart about home, family, whimsical memories and fleeting moments in a voice that is at times as soft and wispy as the wind and other times bouncy and sweet.
Sometimes it hurts and sometimes you cry.
Sometimes it’s not so easy to be young, to be small, to be you.
And sometimes you just need a friend to sit down beside you.
Who won’t talk, who won’t ask, who’ll just wait for you – I’ll wait for you to tell me it all.

Frances England takes you on a beautiful nostalgic trip through your own heart and memories of home and connects them to your children’s present as they are weaving their stories. As a mother, she understands the nuances of life and somehow catches them all in a dream, leaving you so in love with all the moments around you. In Move Like Saturday Night it even features pots and pans, just as you would play with your children when they’re little dancing away in the kitchen. You can’t help but smile, laugh and want to rush off and grab a wooden spoon mic to sing along!
The Sun Will Shine Again is one of the most encouraging songs for children, even ourselves, on how to keep moving forward after disappointment or failure. It shows how even when something might go wrong, you can still persevere and not to let things stand in your way of trying again.
My personal favorite track is Look How The Light Dances With Trees, it is a lyrical dance of illumination. When I was young my Mother always told me that there was a light inside of me and I have said the same thing to my sons. Listening to a sing-song melody about how the light in the trees is the same inside of you really pulls at my heart strings.
I cannot give enough praise for this album. Blink of an Eye is so superbly orchestrated and reaches across the generational divide in families and pulls those strings together. Frances England will steal your heart.
