Chocomize? was founded in 2009 to help people make their chocolate dreams a reality. Our signature custom chocolate bars are created directly by our customers with their favorite ingredients. Chocomize wants to empower people to be a part of the final product that they consume and allow them to create chocolate bars exactly the way they like them. … Chocomize was founded by three young entrepreneurs who met while studying together at Columbia University. Upon graduation, the economic crisis forced them to reconsider the traditional corporate career path. All three founders were intrigued by the increasing popularity of online retail stores as well as the growing trend of mass customization. Their passion for chocolate made them realize that there was an opportunity in this new trend to provide consumers with the ability to make their own chocolate bars.
My son and I are obsessed with chocolate. Dark or milk. Filled with crazy toppings or plain, it’s just not safe around us. My husband says he’s not a chocolate fan, but I know better! I keep my chocolate stash up high from the munchkin and some how, I always find it missing a few pieces after it’s open! Racking my brain, I wondered what I could get Hubby as part of his Father’s Day gift when I was lucky enough to be treated to some amazing chocolate!
Chocomize is unlike any other chocolate company out there. The idea of the company is simple; choose your favorite chocolate and customize it with different items. Sounds like a dream come true, huh? Simple too? Maybe. If your indecisive like me, it could take a day or two if you’re doing more than one bar, but that’s where all the fun is! First, you select your favorite chocolate base, white milk, or dark. Then you can add up to five different toppings: nuts & seeds, fruits, herbs & spices, candy, decorations, and other!
Sonshine and I decided to make a few different bars for Hubby to try out! Our first bar was exclusively for dad. We chose a dark chocolate base, cayenne pepper, real bacon, caramel pieces, and the white chocolate Father’s Day plaque!
That’s definitely a Father’s Day treat, don’t you think? I love how prominent the plaque is without going too overboard!
Hubby was floored. I didn’t try his bar, but he described it as hitting all the flavor spots on the tongue. The cayenne pepper was spicy, but the dark chocolate muted the intensity. The bacon was smoky and salty and paired surprisingly well with the caramel pieces. (Which I had suggested!)
Sonshine chose the second bar. Just like his daddy, he chose a dark chocolate base. And then, because he wanted a happy bar for Hubby, he added marshmallows, chocolate candy pieces, and sprinkles! That just sounds like a happy party for your mouth, doesn’t it? I let the boys share this bar and they both couldn’t have been happier with their sweet creation! I also made a bar, milk chocolate, macaroon pieces, and marshmallow. I got a bonus item added to mine though, nice crunchy pretzels! I think Chocomize was watching me and my lack of ability to choose toppings and just took pity on me! It was a great take on a Smores, but my hubby found it too sweet with the macaroon topping. I, on the other hand, couldn’t get enough of it!
Can’t decide on your own toppings? Chocomize has a whole section of favorites making the choice easy! You can order a real Smores flavor with mini marshmallows and golden Teddy Grahams or the Happy Birthday which features a candle! Still unsure? Grab the I Feel Lucky bar and let the chocolate master minds send you a surprise bar! Pockets feeling deep? Order The Gold Rush, a dark chocolate bar covered in 23 karat edible gold flakes.
It only takes a few days for the chocolate to arrive. It comes in ice packs, so there is no worry of it melting on your doorstep! With Father’s Day on June 16th, these treats are a no brainer for the men in your life! So order a bar or five today and let the father’s in your life know how sweet you think they are!
