Smart Bottoms Diapers was created by Christy Malone because she is passionate about cloth diapering. Smart bottoms’ are 100% U.S. made and the company is committed to taking responsibility for the impact they have on their customers, employees, communities and the environment.

I have been using cloth diapers for over two years, but I had never used an AIO (all in one) diaper so I was very excited to receive the Smart One 3.0 by Smarts Bottoms for review. Smart Bottoms diapers are made in the U.S and the Smart One 3.0 is made with certified organic cotton. The Smart One is a one size diaper; meaning it is designed to fit kids from birth to potty training, about 8-35 lbs. The outer of the diaper is leak free PUL and the inner features a snake style soaker which offers up ten layers of organic cotton. The Smart One 3.0 has four different rise setting which allow for adjustment as the child grows and is available in 9 different bright colors and patterns.

I received the Smart One 3.0 in their Little Boy Blue print. The colorful blue and yellow dots are even more adorable in person. I have a squirmy 9 month old so I had to play around with the snaps a bit before I found a great fit for my little guy, but once I did I was quite impressed. The 3.0 is a really trim diaper. I’m use to using pocket diapers, which I usually stuff with two inserts so they can be quite bulky and make it hard to get fitted pants over. I did not have that problem with this diaper. The trimness of the Smart One 3.0 was definitely one of my favorite features. This would be a great diaper to use with those tight fitting jeans that are all too popular right now.

Another unique feature of the Smart One 3.0 is the snake style attached soaker. The soaker and inner are both made of super soft 100% certified organic cotton. I really liked the adjustability offered by the snake style soaker. Because it is just a continuous piece of fabric attached the back of the diaper you can fold it in a way that allows you to have the maximum absorbency right where you need it. Since I have a boy I folded it up about 3 times toward the front of the diaper. This worked great for him. Another benefit of the attached soaker is quick drying time, and yes you can dry these in the dryer. You do however want to make sure you wash the diaper at least 4-5 times before it’s initial use and remember that because it is made of organic cotton it will probably need to be washed 8-9 times in order to reach maximum absorbency.
Whether you are new mom, a seasoned vet, or looking to buy cloth diapers as a baby shower gift make the smart choice and choose Smart Bottoms. Trust me even if you are new to cloth diapering you will love these diapers, they are so easy to use and are so much better for baby and the environment than disposable diapers.
Happy Cloth Diapering!
