This basket is cute and fairly easy to make older kids can make it on their own, the younger set will need some help.
What you need:
- Paper, your choice
- White Glue
- Scissors or Paper Cutter
- Easter Grass, optional
1. Cut your paper into evenly width strips, the length depends on the size you want your basket to be.
2. Lay all the strips of one color down vertically and tape to your table.
3. Weave one of the alternate color strips over and under. I like to put a bead of glue on all the tabs on the edges. Repeat with all the strips.
4 .Fold each side toward the center at the height you want the sides to be. On all the corners, fold inward and glue the sides together and glue the flaps to one side.
5. Glue a strip on each side for handle and now you can add any embellishments you want to. Add Easter grass.
A woven basket can be a great inexpensive alternative to a purchased basket that either the kids can make or give, or a wonderful homemade touch from Mom!
